Agent-based Security and Efficiency Estimation in Airport Terminals
نویسنده
چکیده
We investigate the use of an Agent-based framework to identify and quantify the relationship between security and efficiency within airport terminals. In this framework, we define a novel Security Risk Assessment methodology that explicitly models attacker and defender behavior in a security scenario. It produces a security risk vector, quantifying the risks to the airport terminal. Efficiency is calculated in the same model using so-called key efficiency indicators. By using this framework, we aim to find and quantify factors that influence both security and efficiency in airport terminals. These factors can then be used to enable informed multiobjective decision making by airport management.

an Optimum Resource Allocation Model for Airport Passenger Terminals (RESEARCH NOTE)
According to the current Airport planning and design practices, for a given demand level there is a corresponding space requirement. While in practice, there are always trade-offs between cost and levels of service, labor and automation, equipment and fixed facilities, and expansion of existing facilities and the addition of new ones. In this research, the airport passenger Terminal Building (P...

Security at major locations of economic or political importance is a key concern around the world, particularly given the threat of terrorism. Limited security resources prevent full security coverage at all times, which allows adversaries to observe and exploit patterns in selective patrolling or monitoring, e.g. they can plan an attack avoiding existing patrols. Hence, randomized patrolling o...

متن کاملAirport Gate Scheduling for Passengers, Aircraft, and Operation
Passengers’ experience is becoming a key metric to evaluate the air transportation system’s performance. Efficient and robust tools to handle airport operations are needed along with a better understanding of passengers’ interests and concerns. Among various airport operations, this paper studies airport gate scheduling for improved passengers’ experience. Three objectives accounting for passen...
